Johannesburg, Monday, 25 May 2026 – Boogertman + Partners is excited to announce that it has achieved Level 1 Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) status, improving on its previous Level 2 rating and underlining the firm’s long-term commitment to transformation, diversity and inclusive economic participation.

B-BBEE accreditation reflects performance across several key scorecard categories, including ownership, management control, skills development, enterprise and supplier development, and socio-economic development. Progress against these categories reflects sustained efforts to invest in people and build a more representative and inclusive environment.

“Our achievement of Level 1 B-BBEE status is an important step in our ongoing transformation journey,” said Bob van Bebber, senior director at Boogertman + Partners. “For us, transformation is not simply about compliance. It is about creating meaningful opportunities, addressing historical inequalities, strengthening the profession and ensuring that architecture and the built environment reflect the diversity, talent and potential of South Africa.”

Boogertman + Partners is committed to nurturing and retaining talent through a combination of education, mentorship, industry engagement and employee development initiatives. “We aim to create an environment that supports individual growth and enables long-term career development within the practice,” added van Bebber.

Boogertman + Partners also supports emerging talent through bursaries for Honours and Master’s students, internships, job-shadowing opportunities and student open days.

He added that diverse perspectives are fundamental to innovation and creativity within the field of architecture and design.

“Achieving Level 1 status strengthens our ability to contribute meaningfully to transformation while continuing to pursue design excellence, innovation and positive social impact across the built environment,” said van Bebber.
