From the 7th to the 11th of December 2020 the Boogertman + Partners Nairobi office opened its doors to clients, partners and students for four hours every afternoon to showcase Boogertman + Partners projects and most importantly demonstrate the process of architecture.

“As architects, we often focus on the outcome, be it the 3D render in the proposal for a future project or the final completed building some time later. The Open House week is about inviting people into our studio so that we can share our process with them and talk through the tools used, the decisions taken and the challenges overcome in the day to day business of architecture” says Anthony Opil ( Associate Director at Boogertman + Partners)”

The team prepared an exhibition of architectural models, drawings, 3D virtual tours and augmented reality demonstrations of notable Boogertman + Partners projects throughout Africa to showcase the work and invite critical feedback and input from guests. The interaction over the five days between the entire team from administrative staff, candidate and senior architects to Directors with the 60 clients and students who attended is an indication of the collaborative and critical dialogue that the Boogertman + Partners Nairobi team see as the way forward in developing the built environment of the future.

Given the success of this first Open House week, it will become an annual feature in the Boogertman + Partners Nairobi calendar, only as Anthony notes “bigger and better for 2021.”
