Lefika Villas is nestled in the breathtaking Pilanesberg within the flagship Sun City Resort. The development includes 48 three-bedroom villas, 10 four-bedroom villas as well as a recreational area with a resort pool, family restaurant, and children’s play areas.

The design of the prestigious units draws inspiration from the surrounding natural landscape. Special attention was given to preserving existing natural features by arranging the built elements around the large trees and rock outcrops found on site. This creates an illusion of an uninterrupted green blanket placed on a perforated hill.

The landscape design focused on creating a link between interior and exterior, where formalised lines complement the formalised building geometry of the units, and sinuous lines complement the curves of the recreational area building.

Materials were chosen to complement the biophysical environment, including flora and soils. Gravel complements the rocky conditions on site, and block retaining walls are pigmented to blend in with the geology. Planting was chosen based on their ability to create visual interest, promote biodiversity and play functional roles in aspects such as soil erosion and screening. Furthermore, plant species that occur in the Botanical Gardens of the Sun City Resort were used in the design to create further uniformity within the greater physical context.

The Boogertman + Partners team focused on creating a timeless, simple yet luxurious finish through careful consideration of materials, proportions and detailing, allowing the glorious surroundings to take centre stage.
