On adapting to the changing role of the architect and how the practice’s experimental multi-disciplinary research and design studio FuturePart is furthering the understanding of architectural practice, Bob highlights the importance of process. “It is all about the meaning in the making and it is an intuitive process. Start and something will come up. You have to work at it.” For him, this highlights the importance for young graduates to hone their conceptual design and drawing skills as opposed to relying on software. “It is all about ideas, and I would rather have someone bringing fresh thinking into the team.”
